Two renowned trout fishing rivers (the Waihou and Waimakariri) are on the farm. The New Zealand trout fishing team is selected on this farm and numerous fishing competitions are held here.
The fish were counted on this farm professionally by men in wet suits with counting equipment etc. and 1000 fish were counted in one kilometre. The fishing is superb on this farm.
Both rainbow trout and brown trout are caught here. The fishing is year round - just a few minutes walk from the farmstay.
The limit is 5 fish per day. A licence is required. Refer to our Rates page for licence costs.
